Nine Broncos Named to Big 12 All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Nine Boise State beach volleyball student-athletes were represented on the 2026 Big 12 Spring Academic Team, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Allyson Alden, Avery Allen, Ava Anderson, Avery Bowidowicz, Charlee Ellena, Addison Moss, Lily Patock, Addison Wolden and Elli Wolthuis all garnered the recognition. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 20% of the team's matches.

Alden graduated with a masters in business administration and a 3.952 cumulative GPA. The sixth-year posted a 22-13-1 record on the season after competing on the top two courts all year. Alden captured 13 victories from the top court, the fourth-most in a single season in program history.

Allen, a psychology major with a 4.0 GPA, finished the year with a 22-14 record. The sophomore defeated a total of seven ranked foes on the season and was named the Big 12 Pair of the Week alongside partner Keira Demirjian on March 24 after a 4-0 weekend at the Death Volley Invitational.

Anderson graduated in May with a health studies degree and a 3.772 cumulative GPA. Ending her career as the program's all-time wins leader (85), the Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., native posted a 24-12 mark over the season. She was named the Big 12 Pair of the Week on April 14 alongside Wolden.

Bowidowicz, an environmental studies major, earned the distinction with a 3.326 cumulative GPA. The junior competed in eight matches this season, finishing 2-6 on the year.

A media communications major, Ellena earns the honor after posting a 3.487 cumulative GPA. The sophomore competed in 25 duals on the season. Ellena went 10-14-1 on the season and tallied four victories over ranked opponents.

Moss finished the year with a 3.684 cumulative GPA as a supply chain management major. The sophomore concluded the season with a 19-17 record, playing 28 of her 36 matches on the No. 4 court. Moss defeated a total of five ranked opponents on the year.

Patock graduated with a masters in environmental management and a 3.856 cumulative GPA. The Sacramento, Calif., native played in 24 duals in her final year of eligibility, defeating four ranked opponents. She finished her career with 72 career victories, the sixth-most in program history.

Wolden, a media communications major, finished her junior year with a 3.819 cumulative GPA. The Denver, Colo., native tied for a team-high 24 victories on the season, with 20 of those wins coming from the top two positions. She finished the season with 78 career victories, the fourth-most in program history.

Wolthuis earns the distinction after graduating with a 3.463 cumulative GPA and a kinesiology degree. The senior went 16-16 in her final season, including seven wins over ranked opponents. She graduated with 81 career victories, the second-most in program history.

Boise State concluded its first season in Big 12 play in 2026, finishing the year with a 20-16 record. Under first-year head coach Alex Venardos, the Broncos took down four ranked opponents, the most by any team in program history.
