HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Boise State beach volleyball wrapped up competition at the Surf City Collegiate Challenge.

Four Bronco pairs ended the tournament with winning records at the event, largely regarded as the most competitive event in the West during the fall season.

Berkeley Neilson and Reagan Rothley finished 5-1 at the tournament, wrapping up a 3-0 start in pool play with a fifth-place finish in the gold division playoff of the College AA Division. Susannah Barnett and Nora Hayd also went undefeated in pool play, finishing in seventh place after a 1-2 record in bracket play.

Charlee Ellena and Kloe Fulenwider also finished the weekend 4-2 in the College AA Division, while Luna Ingaramo and Vivian Roberts went 4-2 in the College A Division.

Quotables
"There was a range of talent. There were enough divisions where everybody found some parity. There wasn't a matchup where we were outclassed and there wasn't a matchup where we could just show up and win. We got tested across all partnerships." – head coach Alex Venardos

"The goal for the next couple of weeks is to pair the game experience we've had so far with the conversations we've had about our brand. We want to continue to make sure we work on how we're serving, how we want to be attacking and being the one pushing people around." - Venardos

Notables
- Four Bronco pairs ended the tournament with winning records.
- Berkeley Neilson and Reagan Rothley finished in fifth place in the Gold Division of the College AA Division. The tandem finished a team-best 5-1 on the weekend.
- Boise State tallied an 8-4 record in College AA matches and an 11-7 mark in the College A Division.

What's Next
Boise State will enjoy a weekend off before competing in two concurrent tournaments. Two Bronco pairs will compete at the AVCA National Pairs Championship in Huntsville, Ala., on Nov. 6-8. The remainder of the team will compete in the Grand Canyon Pairs Tournament in Phoenix, Ariz.
