Broncos land top High School Rocket League recruit in the nation

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State Esports announced today that George "Mystical" Best has committed to the Broncos to continue his education and Rocket League career. The Edmond, OK native took his official visit to Boise in June, and committed his future to the Broncos earlier this month.
LeagueOS, the nation's premiere high school recruit ranking platform, has Best ranked as their top high school prospect in the class of 2026. The last month has seen Best qualify for the top Rocket League competitions in North America. He was in the top 32 teams in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 competitions, competing against professional teams.
The Broncos have appeared in the last two PEC National Championships for Rocket League, and qualified for the 2023 CRL World Championships. A veteran roster that has been together for multiple seasons, the Broncos now bring in a freshman with dynamic skills and a foundation that Doc Haskell and team can build off.
Best brings a unique set of attributes, combining high flying aerials with elite defense. His ability to compete at the highest level across three different competitive modes is proof of his versatility.
"George is a fantastic player and an even better person" Haskell said. "He is phenomenally talented. He's coming to Boise State to compete for championships, just like everyone else in our program, and we like that in a player."
"From my first conversation with the staff, Boise State showed a level of belief in me that was different" said Best. "... I knew it was the place where I could chase championships in esports while getting an amazing education."
The Broncos open their PEC Rocket League season on October 5th with a showdown vs newcomer West Virginia.
