Madsen Featured on Walter Camp Award Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen was featured on the Walter Camp Award Watch List, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced. He is one of two Pac-12 players on the national watch list, joining San Diego State running back Lucky Sutton. The award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding player.
Madsen enters his fifth year at Boise State with 7,009 total yards, seventh-most in program history. He is one of six players in school history to average over 200 yards of total offense per game and ranks sixth in total offense per play (7.14). He has been responsible for 61 touchdowns, throwing for 50 and rushing for 11. The American Fork HS product has thrown for 6,586 yards, including a league-high 3,018 in 2024, when the Broncos made the College Football Playoff.
A native of Lehi, Utah, Madsen was named Mountain West Championship Offensive MVP in 2025, leading the Broncos to their third-straight conference title. He earned All-MW honorable mention in 2024 and secured a spot in the Davey O'Brien Award Quarterback Class of 2024. He is featured on the watch list for the Maxwell Award and Allstate Wuerffel Trophy and was tabbed to the Shiners Children's East-West Bowl 1000 and Pac-12 Preseason Impact List.
This is the second-straight season Madsen has been included on the preseason watch list for the Walter Camp Award. The 2026 Walter Camp Player of Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early November and three finalists will be announced in early December. The recipient of the 60th Walter Camp Award will be announced in the second week of December.
