Riley, Bates Secure Pac-12 Player of the Week Honors

BOISE, Idaho – A pair of Boise State juniors picked up weekly honors from the Pac-12, the conference announced. Running back Dylan Riley was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week and wide receiver Cam Bates was tabbed Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week. The duo helped the Broncos to a 38-20 win over Memphis in the September 12 home opener.
Riley carried the ball 19 times for a career-high 206 yards, averaging 10.8 yards per attempt. He also added 11 receiving yards on two catches. He had a season-long 71-yard run in the second quarter, tallying 134 yards in the first half. Riley finished the contest with 125 yards after contact and nine missed tackles forced. It was his second career 200-yard rushing performance and Boise State's 16th since 2016, the most in the FBS. This is the fourth time he has earned a weekly conference award. He was a two-time Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week in 2025 and earned MW Freshman of the Week once in 2024.
Bates scored on a 72-yard punt return to extend Boise State's lead in the second half. This was the first punt return of his career, making him the first Bronco to score on his first career punt return since Stefan Cobbs in 2021. This is the first career weekly honor for Bates, who is the first Bronco to earn a special teams honor from a conference since punter James Ferguson-Reynolds (November 25, 2024). Riley and Bates are the first Bronco duo to secure weekly honors together since Jeremiah Earby (Defense) and Sire Gaines (Freshman) were recognized by the MW on November 24, 2025.
Boise State returns to The Blue for a nonconference showdown with South Dakota on September 19. The Broncos and Coyotes will kick off at 8 p.m., with the game airing on CBS Sports.
