Broncos claim three individual titles; Beldiman and Piron win doubles

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's tennis team finished 13-2 in singles play and 5-4 in doubles at the ninth-annual Barb Chandler Classic, a three-day round-robin tournament that concluded Sunday afternoon.

Three Broncos claimed individual singles titles. Stella Beldiman (Group four), Ella Piron (Group six) and Tereza Polakova (Group one) all went undefeated in their respective draws.

In doubles, Beldiman and Piron garnered the doubles championship in the group three draw.

Notables

Boise State went a combined 18-6 in singles and doubles matches.
The Broncos claimed three of the six individual titles along with one doubles title.
Beldiman and Polakova repeat as singles champions.
Duo Beldiman/Piron win doubles for the second consecutive year.
Valentina Vachkova picked up her first two singles wins and first doubles victory as a Bronco.

"It was amazing to be back and see the team competing again," said assistant coach Shauna Heffernan. "We had a lot of fun this weekend doing what we do best! This team is on a mission and these past three days were such a strong start for us. We have raised the standard in how we compete and I'm so proud of the team for holding themselves to that. Having three players win out their group, and a doubles pair also come out on top in a high quality tournament is a bonus."
