COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Boise State men's golf concluded the CDA National Reserve Invitational on Tuesday, finishing third in the 16-team field.

Collectively, Boise State shot 871 (+7), carding rounds of 288-290-293. The Broncos' performance marked the ninth time the team has notched a top-three finish in a non-dual event under the guidance of head coach David Trainor. Boise State recorded five such finishes in 2024-25 and three during the 2025-26 campaign.

Two Broncos concluded the invitational in the top 25, including Reese Knox who fired a 213 (-3), good for a sixth-place tie. He shot under par in the first and third rounds, shooting a 70 to start and end the tournament. Knox notched his third career top-10 placement while matching a personal best for individual finish.

Posting his eighth career top-25 finish, Luke Cushman shot 4-over 220 and ended the invitational in a tie for 24th. Chase Gorder and Trevor Garus, who were 6-over, tied for 34th with five other golfers.

As a team, Boise State shot an even-par 288 in the opening 18 holes. Knox and Gorder capped the round with a 70 and 71, respectively, and the team was tied for second heading into round two. The Broncos were over par in the second and third rounds, shooting a 290 (+2) and 293 (+5) across the final 36.

Boise State finishes the CDA National Reserve Invitational with a 12-3 record. The team bested Washington State (+12) and Oregon State (+18) from the Pac-12, along with Idaho (+27), who serves as an in-state rival.

- Reese Knox carded a 213 (-3), good for a sixth-place tie, and notched his third-career top-10 finish.
- Luke Cushman, who shot a 220 (+4), tied for 24th and collected his eighth-career top-25 placement.

Notables

What's Next
Boise State returns to the course next week and will participate in the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, an event the team has played in each of the last five seasons. The tournament, which consists of 54 holes, is set for two days, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29.
