2018-19: CROSS COUNTRY-Â Â Appeared at two meets on the season . . . Ran 27:08.30 for 8k at the Sundodger Invitational (Sept. 8) . . . Appeared at the Charles Bowles Invitational (Sept. 29)Â . . . INDOOR- Took sixth in the mile in 4:21.20 at the Ed Jacoby Invitational and Multis (Jan. 18-19) . . . Appeared at the Jacksons/Nike Boise Indoor Invite (Feb. 1-2) . . . Ran 4:26.51 in the mile at the Bronco Challenge to finish in the top 15 (Feb. 9) . . . OUTDOOR- Appeared at the Border Clash, taking fifth in the 1,500-meter (April 26-27).
2017-18: CROSS COUNTRY- Appeared in only one meet on the season, running 27:32.9 for 8k at the Charles Bowles Invitational (Sept. 30) . . . INDOOR- Raced in both the 3,000m and 5,000m at the Mountain West Championships (Feb. 22-23) . . . Had a breakthrough race in the 3,000m at the Jacksons Nike Boise Indoor Invite, running 8:39.36 to take third (Feb. 2-3) . . .Ran the 800m leg on the Boise State 'Blue' DMR team that finished sixth, while also running the mile in 4:27.46 the following day at the Ed Jacoby Invitational (Jan. 12-13). . . OUTDOOR- Ran a season-best 14:45.44 in the 5,000m to take 15th in the event at the Bryan Clay Invitational. . . Was eighth in the 1,500m thanks to a 3:59.76 at the Border Clash. . . Also competed at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
2016-17: CROSS COUNTRY - Picked up his first race experience as a Bronco…ran a 27:52.2 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational for 197th…also competed at the Mountain West Championships... INDOOR – Did not compete…OUTDOOR – Did not compete.Â
PRIOR CAREER
Albert Beckham (formerly Albert Meier) comes to Boise State by way of Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan. While at Butler CC, Beckham took third in the 5,000m at the 2015 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after clocking a 14:32.94. He also helped the DMR team (1,600m leg) to a runner-up finish (10:11.28a) at the 2015 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Prior to Butler CC, Meier ran at Boone High School in Boone, Iowa. Beckham became the first Iowan to break the 9-minute barrier in the 3,200m after running an 8:58.46 at the Drake Relays in 2014. Beckham was teammates at Boone HS with former Bronco, Chandler Austin.
