Former Boise State student-athlete Jeron Johnson was named to the Broncos’ cornerbacks coach in January 2021.
 
This is the first collegiate coaching job for Johnson.
 
He appeared in 49 games for the Broncos from 2007-10 and recorded 194 tackles and eight interceptions. After signing a free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks, he spent six years in the NFL, four with Seattle and one with Washington before returning to the Seahawks in 2016. He notched 75 tackles in 64 games as a professional, and was a member of the Seahawks’ 2013 squad that won Super Bowl XLVIII.
 
Following his NFL career, Johnson coached defensive backs at Eastside Catholic High School in 2018 and worked as the school’s strength and agility teacher for the last two years.
 
He earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boise State in 2010.
