Erik Lindgren returned to Boise State Athletics as the head coach for the Spirit Squad in June 2025.

Lindgren will be responsible for the daily operation of the Boise State spirit squad which includes the cheer, dance and mascot programs. He will oversee the recruiting, teaching, choreographing, scheduling, budgeting, fundraising and equipment for the spirit squad. He and the team strive to be active in the community, helping promote Bronco Athletics throughout the Treasure Valley.
He came back to Boise State after spending the 2024-25 season at Colorado as the spirit squad's assistant director.Â

Lindgren was a cheerleader for the Bronco Spirit Squad from 2019-21, and served as one of the team captains during the 2020-21 season. After graduation he served as a graduate assistant for the Broncos from 2021-2023.

Lindgren graduated from Boise State in December 2021 with a bachelor degree of business administration in marketing and a masters degree in athletic leadership, and holds an associate degree of arts from Tacoma Community College, which he earned in 2018.
He is certified as a cheer coach by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) and USA Cheer and Dance.
