- Title:
- Volunteer Assistant Coach - Pole Vault
Mark Badowsky returns to the Broncos for a second year, set to coach vertical jumps and hammer throw in the 2016-17 season. Last year he handled men’s pole vault and hurdles.
Prior to coming to Boise, Badowsky coached athletes at The Heat Track Club in Cobb County, Ga. He helped athletes of all ages – ranging from youth to post-collegiate – several of which went on to become NCAA Division I athletes in sprints, hurdles and jumps. He also coached several USATF Youth state and regional champions.
Badowsky worked for USA Track and Field as an intern with their national teams and elite athlete services department. He also volunteered as a graduate student at Central Michigan and worked with jumpers and women’s multi athletes.
He competed at Saginaw Valley State as a student-athlete for two seasons where he was an all-conference long jumper and also excelled as a multi athlete. After a knee injury derailed his junior season, Badowsky finished his time as an undergrad as a volunteer assistant coach working with horizontal jumpers.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and later earned his master’s degree at Central Michigan in sports administration.
