BOISE STATE TENURE

Hayley Peterson joined the Boise State coaching staff on July 19, 2018 and is now in her seventh season as an assistant. In addition to coaching, her primary responsibilities are assisting in planning workouts and training, working with the setters, film break down, scouting and recruiting. During her first season at Boise State, Peterson also served as an assistant coach to the beach volleyball program under head coach Allison Buck.

During her seven campaigns as an assistant to the volleyball team, Peterson has helped the team to six winning seasons and a 117-78 overall mark and 67-56 league record. The team has earned 15 All-Mountain West honorees, five honorable-mention All-MW, one MW Player of the Year and four MW Freshman of the Year honors, one MW Newcomer of the Year, 58 Academic All-MW awards and 22 MW Scholar-Athletes (3.5 or better cumulative GPAs).

PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE

Peterson came to Boise State from Idaho State where she served as an assistant coach for one season at her alma mater. At ISU her primary responsibilities resembled much of what she does in her role at Boise State. As a Bengal assistant she helped with training and directing the setters, assisted with recruiting and practice planning, scouting, breaking film down and overseeing team academics. 

Peterson has also served as a coach for the Idaho Falls Juniors since 2011. In her youth coaching experience, she organized tryouts including what drills to include to help athletes display their abilities and team cohesion. Peterson has also worked to develop different teaching styles and learned how to adapt to different types of athletes.

Peterson has also worked as a camp coach, working under former ISU head coach Chad Tiechert at the Chad Tiechert Volleyball Camps where she had the opportunity to organize and run four-day camps for 30-60 athletes. 

COLLEGIATE PLAYING EXPERIENCE

The native of Idaho Falls (Idaho Falls HS), played collegiately for Idaho State where she was a standout setter from 2012-16. Peterson was a two-year team captain and finished her career ranked fifth in program history with 3,813 assists and eighth in digs with 1,236. She was also named as one of 30 finalists for the 2016 Senior CLASS Award, was a two-time first-team All-Big Sky Conference selection and two-time Big Sky All-Academic honoree.

PERSONAL

The former Hayley Farrer is married to Kaderick Peterson. She is a 2016 graduate of Idaho State University earning a bachelor degree in sport management with a physical education emphasis. Peterson then completed her masters in athletic administration from ISU in May 2018.
