SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Roghaar wasted no time in putting his stamp on the program as he coached his first team to a 17-8 overall and 5-1 record in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) on its way to the 2011 regular-season championship. The 17 wins broke the program record for most wins by a first-year head coach. Following the Broncos' outstanding regular season, Roghaar was named 2011 WAC Coach of the Year. Boise State fell just short of reaching the NCAA tournament, as the Broncos dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Fresno State in the WAC tournament championship match.

The next two seasons saw the move into the Mountain West where the Broncos finished their inaugural campaign 2-5 in conference and 8-12 overall. Roghaar's second swing through the league saw improvement as Boise State finished 13-10 overall, six of the losses came against nationally ranked opponents, and 4-4 in league play which placed the team fifth in the nine-team standings.

In 2016 he coached his team to a 13-9 overall record. That was followed by his 2017-18 squad going 14-8 overall and 5-1 in MW play on its way to winning the Mountain West Mountain Division regular season title. Freshman Wilhelmina Palmer was named All-Mountain West in singles and Co-Mountain West Freshman of the Year. Anja Dokic also earned All-Mountain West honors in singles, as well as in doubles with partner Wiktoria Nosek.

In 2018-19, Roghaar became the second coach in program history to eclipse 100 career wins after his team took down Idaho State 6-1 on Jan. 19, 2019. The team finished 7-12 overall during the campaign and were led by Wilhelmina Palmer and Lilian Poling who both earned All-Mountain West honors in singles and doubles.

The 2019-20 campaign ended abruptly because of the coronavirus pandemic. The team finished the shortened season at 9-3 overall. Postseason honors went out to Lilian Poling and Joana Baptista who received All-MW accolades in singles, while Poling and Holly Stewart collected All-MW recognition in doubles.

Boise State finished 2021 with a 12-6 overall mark and a 6-4 conference record to place fifth in the league standings. Joana Baptista earned All-MW honors in both singles and doubles, while Pauline Ernstberger earn postseason all-conference accolades for singles and Shauna Heffernan was recognize for her doubles play.

Roghaar took Boise State tennis to a new height of success under the Mountain West Conference during the 2022-23 season. After a 7-3 start to the season through the months of January and February, the Broncos defeated UNLV for the first time in program history during the second weekend of MW play. Two-straight victories to close out the season - including a 4-3 victory over 72nd-ranked Fresno State - positioned Boise State as the sixth seed entering the MW Championships. The Broncos handled business in the opening round as the swept Utah State before winning a thrilling 4-3 contest against No. 55 San Diego State in the quarterfinal to reach the semifinal round of the MW conference tournament for the first time in program history. There Boise State met 59th-ranked UNLV in a match that saw the Broncos beaten by the eventual conference champion 4-1, ending the season with a 13-11 record.

Roghaar began the 2023-24 season bringing in two new assistant coaches, Errol Smith and Megan LaLone. The team finished the year 8-13 overall, 4-6 in Mountain West play, and fell in the opening round of the MW Tournament. Nicole Discenza was named to the MW All-Conference and All-MW Tournament team while Pauline Ernstberger and Lorelyz Maruffo also earned all-conference honors.

The 2024-25 season marked a milestone for the program, featuring its first Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship and a 20-6 record. It was the program’s seventh 20-win season and the first since 2010. Roghaar earned his third conference coach of the year honor and became just the second head coach in Boise State history to receive an ITA Region Coach of the Year award. The team also qualified for the NCAA Tournament, where it defeated No. 22 Baylor 4-3 in the first round. The victory was Boise State’s first NCAA Tournament win since 2010 and its highest-ranked win since beating No. 21 Iowa that same year.
