Brock Huntzinger was named Boise State's pitching coach, August 1, 2018.

Huntzinger, originally from Pendleton, Ind., spent 10 seasons in professional baseball before joining the college ranks as an undergraduate assistant with both Indiana and Arizona State.

Huntzinger was initially drafted out of Pendleton Heights High School in the third round of the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Boston Red Sox, spending seven seasons with the club and reaching Triple-A Pawtucket. A right-handed pitcher, Huntzinger was named an All-Star in both the New York-Penn League (2008) and the Carolina League (2010).

Over his next three seasons Huntzinger spent time with the Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles and Oakland Athletics. He earned the Norfolk Tide ERA Award in 2014, given to the reliever with the lowest earned run average on the staff.
