Kirk White is one of only five student-athletes at Boise State University to win an individual NCAA National Championship. White’s came as a sophomore in 1999 at the NCAA National Wrestling Championships when he captured the title in the 165-pound weight class. His record that championship season was 38-1. White went on to finish fifth in his weight class at the 2000 national championships, and sixth as a senior in 2001 to earn two more All-America awards and become the only three-time NCAA All-American in Bronco wrestling history. White won more than 20 matches each of his four seasons of competition at Boise State, posting a record of 27-6 as a freshman, 38-1 his sophomore season, 20-8 as a junior and a 29-6 mark his senior year to finish his career with an overall record of 114-21 and an 84.4 winning percentage. White continues to wrestle at the international level and has won several gold medals at tournaments around the world. In 2003 and 2004 he represented the United States at the Pan-American Championships winning a silver medal each year. At the 2004 United States Olympic Trials for the games in Athens, Greece, White placed fourth. He was an assistant coach for the Boise State wrestling team at the time of his induction.
