Broncos tied for 14th after round one

FRESNO, Calif. The Boise State University men’s golf team is tied for 14th place with a 7-over 295 after the first round of the Fresno State Lexus Classic.

 

Matt Hastings leads the Broncos with an even-par 72 through the first round of play.

 

Troy Merritt and John Baranco are two shots behind at 74 (+2) and are tied in 57th place.

 

Kevin Tarango registered a season-low 75 (+3) to finish round one tied for 72nd place while Drew Surmeier posted an 86 (+14) in his first round with the Broncos.

 

The second round of the tournament will be played Monday, Mar. 10, and results will be posted when they become available. The third and final round of the 2008 Fresno State Lexus Classic will be held Tuesday, Mar. 11, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
