BOISE, Idaho – Junior Matt Slater earned Camper of the Day honors from head coach Chris Petersen after Tuesday morning’s practice.

“He was a mainstay for us last year and, the most exciting thing is, he has gotten better for us this year,” said Petersen. “There was improvement in spring ball and even more improvement in fall camp.”

Slater, an offensive tackle from St. Paul, Minn., started all 13 games as a sophomore to help the Broncos regain the WAC title in 2008. The Bronco offense ranked 13th in passing offense and 18th in total offense behind Slater. He also helped the Broncos to lead the WAC in scoring (37.6 ppg).
