Hume Moves on at All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla.-Boise State men's tennis senior Damian Hume continues to roll at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Hume won his third-round match in the qualifying draw in straight sets to reach the singles main draw.

Hume, ranked No. 63 in the preseason, defeated Hernus Pieters of Georgia 6-1, 6-3, Wednesday, for his third straight-sets win of the tournament. He will face 16th-ranked Finn Tearney from Pepperdine, Thursday at 9:30 a.m. (CT), in first-round action of the main draw.

Redshirt junior James Meredith saw his tournament run come to an end Wednesday, in the qualifying draw round of 32. Meredith dropped a 6-3, 7-6 (2) decision to Iowa's Marc Bruche.

The Broncos' doubles team (Hume and Meredith) also bowed out Wednesday, losing to David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury of Memphis, 8-6.
