ITA Recognizes Women's Tennis for Academic Success

Four Broncos receive individual honors.
BOISE, Idaho (8/6/2012) - Boise State University's women's tennis team has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its academic success during the 2011-12 school year. This marks the sixth time in the last seven years that the Boise State program has received the ITA's All-Academic Team award. The award is given to any member institution that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).The Broncos' team GPA was 3.476 for the 2011-12 academic year.
In addition to the team award, four individual Broncos received ITA Scholar Athlete recognition. Representing Boise State on this prestigious list are Marlena Pietzuch (Hechingen, Germany) and Fiona Mok (Boise, Idaho) who will be seniors this coming season, junior-to-be Morgan Basil (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and sophomore-to-be Kaitlyn Brown (Boise, Idaho).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.
