FRESNO, Calif. -  Boise State's women's basketball saw Fresno State come alive in the second half to hand the Broncos a 70-57 setback on the road in a Mountain West game at Fresno, Calif. Boise State fell victim to a slow start in the second period and never recovered as the Bulldogs took control.

With the loss Boise State fell to 9-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while Fresno State improved to 12-6 on the year and 4-1 in MW action. The Broncos return home Saturday afternoon when they host the Nevada Wolf Pack at 2 p.m. in Taco Bell Arena.

Brandi Henton led the Broncos with 14 points on six-of-16 shooting from the floor with two 3-pointers, she also had three rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Lauren Lenhardt followed with her 14th game in double figure points scoring 12 to go with seven rebounds.

Lexie Der added eight points and team-high nine boards. Rosalie Cutri also contributed eight points to go with three rebounds, three assists and one steal.

On the night Boise State shot 45.6 percent (26-57) from the floor, 26.7 percent (4-15) from the 3-point arc and hit its only free throw attempt (1-1). The Bulldogs had a huge advantage at the free-throw line where they hit 16-of-22 attempts. Fresno State finished shooting 46.9 percent (34-49) from the floor, 36.4 percent (8-22) from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent from the charity stripe. The Broncos out rebounded the Bulldogs 32 to 26 and had a 16 to 10 advantage in second chance points.

Three Bulldogs reached double-digit points led by Ki-Ki Moore with 20 to go with seven rebounds, five assists and seven steals. Rosie Moult followed with 15 points on five-of-13 shooting from beyond the arc, while Taylor Thompson went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line to finish with 12 points overall.

The first half was tight throughout with the teams trading five leads to go with three ties before Fresno State took a four-point advantage into the halftime break up 31-27. Both teams led by as many as four points during the period which was plagued with 17 turnovers, 10 by the Broncos and seven by the Bulldogs.

Boise State shot 50 percent (13-25) from the floor for the opening 20 minutes compared to Fresno State's 44 percent (11-25). Brandi Henton led the Broncos with seven points followed by Laura Pelse with six.

The second period opened with the Bulldogs rolling off a 14-6 run to take control up 45-33 with 14 minutes to play. Boise State was unable to get any closer than nine points the rest of the way. The Broncos shot decent in the period hitting nearly 41 percent, but struggled with 10 turnovers which Fresno State turned into a 17 to two advantage in points off turnovers.
