BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's golf team combined to record a grade-point average of 3.7 for the 2013 fall semester, the highest GPA on record for any individual program in school history.

Included were perfect 4.0 averages from sophomore Sammie Pless, redshirt junior Jenna Leurquin and freshmen Genevieve Ling and Dana Clary.

"I am extremely proud of our team for what they have been able to accomplish in the classroom," head coach Nicole Bird said. "At the beginning of the season, our goal was to set the school record for single-semester grade-point average, and they worked hard to make sure that happened."

The women's golf team has led the department in GPA in each of the last four semesters, and now boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.67 as a team.

The Broncos will open their spring season at the Jim West Challenge in New Braunfels, Texas, Feb. 17-18.
