Drmic Lifts Broncos to Double-Overtime Win

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Anthony Drmic scored 29 points as Boise State rallied back to take down Montana 72-67, in double overtime on Tuesday night. Montana led for 37:16 of the 50 minutes, including 34:50 of the 40 minutes in regulation.
Boise State led for just 24 seconds in regulation. The Broncos took a 7-6 advantage with 16:05 to play in the first half. Montana regained the lead with 15:41 left in the half and did not relinquish it until early in the first overtime.
Nick Duncan added 15 points as the Broncos (3-0) overcame 33 percent shooting. Drmic and Duncan each made four 3-pointers.
Martin Breunig scored 16 points, Jordan Gregory added 15 and Mario Dunn had 12 for the Grizzlies (1-1). Gregory made a tying 3-pointer with 5.3 seconds left in the second overtime but didn't get the shot off on time and was called for a shot-clock violation.
Drmic scored the tie-breaking basket on a layup with 1:55 left in the second session. He also converted a tying three-point play with 1:04 left in regulation and hit a tying 3-pointer with 19.5 seconds left in the first overtime.
Drmic is now tied with Roberto Bergersen with 1,485 career points for No. 6 on Boise State's all-time scoring list. Drmic also moved into sole possession of 15th on the Mountain West's all-time scoring list. He passed Dairese Gary (1,458; New Mexico, 2007-11) and Dorian Green (1,464; Colorado State, 2009-13).
The Grizzlies rattled off 14 straight points for an early 20-7 edge and their lead topped out at 25-10 on a 3-pointer by Jermaine Edmonds Jr. Montana led 30-20 at halftime. The 20 points is Boise State's fewest in a half since also scoring 20 at Colorado State, Jan. 30, 2013.
Boise State's next game is Saturday, Nov. 22, at No. 3 Wisconsin. Tipoff is at 9 p.m. CT/8 p.m. MT and will be televised on the Big Ten Network. It is the third time in school history the Broncos will play a team ranked in the top three of the AP Poll (Dec. 30, 1999, against No. 3 Cincinnati in Boise; Nov. 24, 1978, at No. 2 UCLA).
