As they have done so many times in the past, Boise State University student-athletes performed at a high level in the classroom this past semester with four teams posting record grade-point averages.
The women's gymnastics team led the way posting an all-time semester record GPA of 3.75, the highest mark ever by a Bronco team for one semester. The previous record was 3.68 set by the women's golf team in the 2014 spring semester.
Three other Boise State squads also posted all-time semester highs with women's tennis coming in at 3.62, women's basketball at 3.38 and men's golf at 3.29.
The department overall cumulative GPA for the 2014 fall semester was 3.13, the second highest on record at Boise State. The record is 3.14 set during the 2014 spring semester. The 3.13 GPA marked the 15th straight semester Bronco student-athletes have combined for a GPA of over 3.0.
Boise State had 25 student-athletes record 4.0 GPAs this past semester, including sophomores D.J. Dean (football) and Genn Ling (women's golf), who have each posted perfect 4.0 GPAs for their college careers. Dean recently completed his fourth consecutive 4.0 semester at Boise State, while Ling has three straight semesters with a perfect GPA.
