Before the luncheon, Harsin and Carey held court at a press conference, taking questions from the assembled media before the game. From there, the teams headed to the U.S.S. Midway museum where they were treated to a concert from each team's marching band before the lunch and program.
Team captains Darian Thompson and Marcus Henry addressed the crowd on behalf of the team, along with Harsin and Boise State University President Dr. Bob Kustra. Redshirt defensive tackle Justin Taimatuia also addressed the crowd after he was selected by his teammates as the Bronco recipient of the bowl's Most Inspirational Award.
