Vander Esch Voted Week's Top Bronco

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was voted Boise State Athlete of the Week by fans in a Twitter poll.

Vander Esch was instrumental in Boise State's defensive performance Saturday, matching both his career high and the Mountain West Championship Game record with 16 tackles as the Broncos defeated No. 25 Fresno State, 17-14. The Riggins, Idaho, native capped his dominant effort with his third interception of the season on Fresno State's final drive, sealing the Bronco win.

No. 25/25 Boise State (10-3) will close the 2017 season at the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 16, taking on the Oregon Ducks at 1:30 p.m.
