Dewey Eliminated in Day One at NCAAs

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Austin Dewey concluded his Boise State wrestling career with two losses in the opening day of 2017 NCAA Championships, Thursday at the Scottrade Center.

The redshirt senior - making the first appearance at the national tournament in his career - lost his opening match to No. 11 seed Alex Meyer of Iowa in a decision (6-1).

In the wrestle-back round Thursday night, Dewey dropped a 9-3 decision to Jordan Pagano to be eliminated.

The Boise native ends his career with a 59-61 career record with 15 bonus point victories. Dewey finished as the Pac-12 runner-up twice in his career.

Dewey was Boise State's lone qualifier for the national tournament.
