Boise State Earns No. 1 Seed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The conference announced the bracket for the 2018 Mountain West Women's Soccer Championship (Oct. 30 – Nov. 3), and the Broncos will begin tournament play as the No. 1 seed in San Jose, Calif., playing on the campus of San Jose State.
Next week's championship will mark the first time in program history that Boise State has played in a conference tournament as a No. 1 seed. The Broncos have a bye in the quarterfinals and will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 San Jose State and No. 5 Fresno State in the second semifinal, which is set for Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. PT.
The Broncos shared the Mountain West regular season championship with No. 2 Wyoming and No. 3 New Mexico. The Blue and Orange earned the No. 1 seed because of the below head-to-head results between the three teams:
Boise State: 1-0-1 | 4 points
Wyoming: 1-1-0 | 3 points
New Mexico: 0-1-1 | 1 point
The three-way tie for the top spot in the Mountain West marks the first such occasion since the 1999 season. The regular season title was also the first for Boise State in program history.
Because of the No. 1 seed in this year's championship, Boise State has earned the rights to host the 2019 Mountain West Women's Soccer Championship in Boise (Oct. 29 – Nov. 2, 2019) next season.
