Game Notes

THE GAME: Boise State (4-6) will face Loyola Marymount (10-1) on the back half of its final nonconference road trip of the season. The game will take place at Gersten Pavilion in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. PT.

WATCH: The game will be available to watch for free online on the TheW.TV.

RADIO: Bob Behler will handle play-by-play duties. The game will air on 670 AM KBOI or on the TuneIn app.

LAST TIME OUT: Boise State played well in the first half and had the 28-24 lead at the break, but Oregon was able to surge ahead in the second and eventually claim the 66-54 win, last Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena.

Alex Hobbs led all scorers and tied a career high with 21 points. The junior knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers and finished the game going 8-of-15 from the field.

Marcus Dickinson and Zach Haney both reached double-digit points, as each scored 11. The Broncos were limited offensively, shooting a season-low 35.3 percent (18-of-51) from the field as the Ducks pulled ahead in the second half, outscoring the Broncos 42-26 in the latter 20 minutes.

ABOUT LOYOLA MARYMOUNT: The Lions are 10-1 – good for their best 11-game start in program history. LMU has logged a road win at UNLV (61-50) and a neutral victory against Georgetown (65-52), with its only loss coming at UCLA (58-82).

James Bateman is the leading scorer at 19.5 points per game, while Mattias Markusson is tops in rebounding (8.7 rpg) and second in scoring (10.7 ppg).

THE SERIES: Boise State leads the all-time series 7-2. The Broncos have won the last five matchups, including victories in each of the last four seasons (2014-17). The Blue and Orange were winners of a 68-48 game last year at Taco Bell Arena with Justinian Jessup leading the way with 22 points.

With Wednesday's game set to be the fifth matchup between the two teams during head coach Leon Rice's nine years at the helm, the Broncos will have played LMU more than any other nonconference opponent (in the nonconference season) in the Rice era.

CAREER DAY FOR HOBBS: Hobbs' 21 points against Oregon last week tied a career high, while his five 3-pointers and 38 minutes were outright career highs. The junior has been sensational since returning from injury, as his points per game has progressed from 13 against Central Washington (Dec. 8), 15 against Alabama State (Dec. 12) and then the 21 against UO (Dec. 15).

CLOSING IN ON FIRST TRUE ROAD WIN: Boise State's task Wednesday night will be to play a complete game, as it has gone into halftime with the lead in its two previous true road games this season against Grand Canyon (36-35) and Oregon (28-24).

Boise State's game against LMU will be its fourth true road game of the season. The only other Mountain West school to play four true road games in its first 11 games of the season is New Mexico.

CONTINUE TO ASSIST: The Broncos are 4-0 this season when tallying more assists than their opponents. More specifically, the Broncos had 13 or more assists in their four wins: 13 (vs. Jackson State), 16 (vs. St. Bonaventure), 13 (Central Washington) and 14 (Alabama State). Jessup is tops in assists on the team, averaging 3.0 a game.
