SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Boise State wrapped up back-to-back Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday night in San Antonio, Texas, scoring 1,250 points overall to win by 144.5 over second-place San Diego State.

Saturday's stretch drive to the title was highlighted by two wins, Abbey Sorensen's win in the 200-yard backstroke and the 400-yard freestyle relay's four-peat. In addition, Cody Evans took second in the 100 freestyle; Emily Mathis and Laura Williams placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke; Cassidy Bose's sixth place finish on the platform; as well as Emma Chard and Lucia Davis placing second and fourth in the 1,650 freestyle.

The Broncos recorded four top-10 wins in the 100 freestyle and five top-10 results in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

In addition to the team championship being back-to-back, it is the sixth conference title in the last nine years and the sixth since the program was established 12 years ago in 2006-07.

EVENT RECAPS

1,650-Yard Freestyle

Boise State recorded four top-10 finishes in the 1,650 Free Saturday earning 88 team points.
Emma Chard opened the Broncos evening at the MW Championships by taking third overall in the 1650 free on a time of 16:26.59 (NCAA B cut).
Lucia Davis, Mandy Barnes and Hayley Hill all turned in career-bests of 16:36.57 (sixth place), 16:39.46 (ninth place) and 16:44.96 (10th place), respectively, in the 1,650 free.

200-Yard Backstroke

Abbey Sorensen won the 200 back championship with a time of 1:54.60 (NCAA B cut), she recorded a career-best in the prelims earlier Friday with a 1:54.53 (NCAA B cut).
Molly Hogg took 10th overall with a career-best 1:59.01 (NCAA B cut), while Madison Frederick placed 15th on a 2:03.85.
Boise State recorded 61 team points in the 200 back.

100-Yard Freestyle

The Broncos also had four top-10 results in the 100 Free matching the 1650 Free earlier, Boise State received 93 team points.
Cody Evans swam a career-best 49.65 (NCAA B cut) to place second overall beating her previous career-best of 49.94 (NCAA B cut) set earlier Friday in the prelims.
Robin Pinger took fourth by breaking her previous career-best (50.29) set earlier in the day with a 49.77 (NCAA B cut) in the final.
Ally Kleinsorgen swam a 50.24 to take eighth place, while Emmie Jennings turned in a career time of 50.19 to place second in the B Final and 10th overall.

200-Yard Breaststroke

Senior Emily Mathis placed fifth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:12.90 (NCAA B cut), while Laura Williams took seventh on a 2:14.66 (NCAA B cut) as the duo combined for 48 team points.

200-Yard Butterfly

Boise State placed three into the 200 Fly B Final Saturday and ended up with a combined 38 team points.
Freshman Brittany Wen led the way recording 2:02.80 for 12th place, followed by Monica Bottelberghe in 15th with a 2:05.45 and Mandy Barnes in 16th with a 2:06.62.
Both Barnes (2:01.85) and Bottelberghe (2:03.80) had career-bests times in the prelims earlier in the day.

Platform Diving

Cassidy Bose advanced into the platform final with a prelim score of 238.38. In the final Saturday night she followed with a 211.62 to place sixth overall.
Freshman Taylor Clark had a career day on the platform Saturday tallying a 201.93 in the consolation final to place 4th in the heat and 12th overall scoring 15 team points. She was in 17th place heading into the last dive when she hit a 41.76 on her last dive to jump five spots into 12th.
The two divers earned 39 team points for Boise State.

400-Yard Freestyle Relay

Boise State's 400 free relay team won its fourth-consecutive MW Championship and seventh all-time since the program began in 2006-07. Cody Evans, Ally Kleinsorgen, Robin Pinger and Abbey Sorensen clocked a 3:17.42, seventh-best in program history, to win the title.
