CSCAA Honors 11 Broncos as Honorable-Mention Scholar All-Americans

Boise, Idaho (July 23, 2018) - The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as honored 11 Broncos as CSCAA Honorable-Mention Scholar All-Americans, in addition the team has been named a CSCAA Scholar All-American Team for a 15-consecutive semester.

Boise State received the award for Scholar All-American Team for their combined GPA of 3.59. The Broncos as a team ranked first among the 10 Mountain West schools who sponsor the sport.

To be recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team a school must have a 3.0 or better accumulative GPA.

Boise State also had 11 individuals earn CSCAA Honorable-Mention Scholar All-American accolades for their academic performance during the year: Emma Chard (Jr., Tacoma, Wash.), Lucia Davis (Fr., Sweet Home, Ore.), Cody Evans (Jr., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada), Hayley Hill (Fr., Phoenix, Ariz.), Molly Hogg (Fr., Aberdeen, S.D.), Emmie Jennings (So., Eagle River, Alaska), Ally Kleinsorgen (Jr., Succasunna, N.J.), Emily Mathis (Sr., Santa Maria, Calif.), Robin Pinger (So., Portland, Ore.), Abbey Sorensen (Jr., Draper, Utah) and Laura Williams (Jr., Covington, Wash.).

For Chard, Kleinsorgen and Sorensen it marks the third time that they have been honored by the CSCAA for academics, while its was the second time for Williams.

For an individual to earn recognition by the CSCAA for Scholar All-American a student-athlete must have a GPA of 3.5 or better and competed in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. To receive honorable mention status, students have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.
