Braydey Hodgins made seven free throws down the stretch for the 69-66 victory over San Diego State
With 20.4 seconds left in a four-point game, San Diego State (5-7, 0-1 MW) called timeout prior to the inbound pass for Boise State. The Broncos turned the ball over on the inbound pass, which San Diego State converted into a basket to pull within two points.
Braydey Hodgins was fouled on the ensuing possession, and was able to convert on only one of her two free throw attempts. Hodgins would provide pivotal defense on San Diego State's final possession with just over 12 seconds remaining in the game, tipping the ball out of the hands of Sophia Ramos. Ramos was able to come up with the ball, but enough time ran off the clock to ensure the Aztecs could not get a clean shot off, as Zayn Dornstauder's potential game-tying shot at the buzzer banked off glass and out.

A'Shanti Coleman led all scorers with a career-high 22 points on the day. Coleman was efficient on the day, shooting 69-percent from the field (9-of-13). Riley Lupfer and Braydey Hodgins joined Coleman in double-digit scoring with 17 points apiece.
Boise State scored on their first two possessions of the game. Coleman took a one-step drive to the basket on the game's opening possession for an easy lay-in.
On the next possession for the Broncos, Riley Lupfer was able to grab a hard-fought rebound under the basket. Harrell was able to come with another layup to give Boise State a 4-0 lead in the game.

Neither team saw much scoring in the second quarter, as Boise State and the Aztecs managed a combined 15 points in the period. Boise State shot 44-percent from the field in the period (4-of-9), but turned the ball over seven times. Despite the lackluster second quarter, the Broncos still went into the locker room with a 30-21 lead.
The Broncos will return home with a week off to face San José State, Jan. 12, before heading on the road for back-to-back games against Nevada (Jan. 16) and Fresno State (Jan. 19). Tip-off between the Broncos and Spartans will be 1 p.m. MT at Taco Bell Arena.
