Boise State women's tennis team has announced the signing of Pauline Ernstberger who will join the program in Fall 2020.

BOISE, Idaho – Beck Roghaar, Boise State women's tennis team head coach, has just announced the signing of Pauline Ernstberger, who will join the team next fall.

Ernstberger will come to Boise from Bruchsal, Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, where she won the U16 and U18 state championships, in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The five-foot-seven Ernstberger was named junior athlete of the year in Bruchsal in 2018 and was part of a club that won first place at the U16 German Team Championships and third in the U16 German Doubles Championships, both in 2017.

"After my first phone call with coach Roghaar where he gave me all the information about Boise State, it didn't take me long to commit," said Ernstberger. "I realized the coaches and players are so supportive and motivated and that they really love what they do. The team seems to be very ambitious and has a lot of fun."

"Pauline comes to us from one of the top academies in Germany," said Roghaar. "With her background training and competing there in that strong environment, we know we're adding a player who knows how to work at an elite level and loves to compete. These have been two major focus points in our recruiting class and Pauline is going to meet the Boise State standard and add to those areas of the culture of our program right away."
