BOISE, Idaho - Boise State quarterback Jaylon Henderson was named to the honorable mention of the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week award Tuesday, following his big outing in last Saturday's 42-9 win over New Mexico.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, and it's player of the week honor, recognizes the collegiate offensive player of the year who also has a football background in the state of Texas, whether playing collegiate or prep.

Henderson, a Kingwood, Texas, native,  made the first start of his FBS career, Saturday, and went 15-for-28 for 292 yards, throwing for three touchdowns against just one interception. The performance also landed him Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors.

After Boise State took a 7-0 lead with Sonatane Lui's 24-yard scoop 'n score on the game's first play from scrimmage, Henderson led the Bronco on an eight-play, 97-yard drive over just 3:42, during which he went 4-for-5 for 81 yards, that culminated with a Bronco touchdown.

Henderson would lead the Boise State offense to touchdowns on each of its first three drives of the game, as the Broncos built a 28-0 lead after the opening quarter.

No. 20/19 Boise State (9-1, 6-0 MW) travels to Logan this weekend for Saturday night's 8:30 p.m. showdown at Utah State (6-4, 5-1 MW) on CBS Sports Network. The Broncos can clinch the Mountain Division, and Mountain West Championship Game hosting duties, with a win over the Aggies.
