Ohlinger leads Boise State to win with team-high 12 kills.
BOISE, Idaho - Lauren Ohlinger's 12 kills led Boise State Thursday night as the Broncos swept the Fresno State Bulldogs 25-17, 25-14, 25-22 in Bronco Gym. Boise State was dominant most of the match and used decisive runs midway through all three sets to pull away from the Bulldogs to claim the wins. 
It was Boise State's second sweep over Fresno State this season as the Broncos improved to 17-11 overall and 9-8 in conference. The Bulldogs moved to 13-16 on the year with the loss and 6-11 in league.Â
"I'm really proud of the victory that we had tonight," said head coach Shawn Garus. "Absolutely fantastic to see Janell Walley back in the front row. Her presence created opportunities for other people to score, specifically our middle blockers. I love what we saw tonight and hopefully we can carry it over to senior day on Saturday."
The first set was tied at 11 when the Broncos blew it open with a 10-0 run. Jordi Holdaway served 11 straight points which included two of her team-high three service aces as the Blue and Orange pulled away for the eight-point victory.Â
The second set was tight early with Boise State leading 12-11 when it made another decisive run. The Broncos went on a 5-1 run to go up 17-12 and never looked back as they eventually won by 11 points, 25-14.
Set three was all Bulldogs early taking a 4-0 lead to open the period and were up 7-3 when the Broncos roared back. Boise State used a 4-0 run that included a Ohlinger kill and two block assists, the first by Alyssa Wissinger and Danielle Boss with the second coming from Wissinger and Ohlinger to tie the score at 7-7.Â
Boise State then slowly took charge taking the lead at 9-8, then extended it to four points on two occasions. Fresno State did rally back to tie it at 19 all, trying to stay alive. The Broncos responded with three straight points, Ohlinger started it with a kill, she then teamed up with Wissinger for a block, followed by a Fresno State hitting error. The Broncos never trailed again, eventually winning it 25-22 to put the match away. Shae Duffy closed it out with two straight points, the first a hard-hit kill, the last was a block solo to clinch it.
The Broncos finished the night hitting 17.6 percent while holding Fresno State to 1.9 percent. They also out blocked the Bulldogs 12 to five.Â
Ohlinger's 12 kills were a team-high to go with six digs, five block assists and finished with a team-best 14.5 points.Â
Wissinger was solid following up with four kills and a team-high eight block assists. Duffy added eight kills, while Jessica Donahue hit a team-high 41.7 percent for seven kills and added three block assists.
For the first time in four weeks senior Janell Walley was back in the front row for Boise State after suffering an injury which limited her to playing a defensive role. She finished the night with five kills, one service ace, nine digs and three blocks.
Boss distributed 32 assists to go with her two kills, one service ace, eight digs and two blocks. Holdaway had a team-high 11 digs and three aces.
Boise State will close out the regular season on Saturday with San Diego State for Senior Day, first serve is 2 p.m. (Mountain).
"I think it's going to be really good," said Garus. "We beat San Diego State in a tough five-setter at their place and they've been playing well of late, so expect a really good competitive match. We want to send our seniors off with a win."
