BOISE, Idaho -Â The Boise State football team will return to Albertsons Stadium for the team's first home game in nearly a month, playing host to Mountain Division rival Wyoming, Saturday (Nov. 9). The Broncos, ranked No. 21 nationally in both the Associated Press and Coaches Polls, and Cowboys are slated to kick at 8:15 p.m., and the game will be nationally televised by ESPN.
TOUGH PLACE FOR OPPONENTS
Opponents have committed 38 false starts (3.45 per game) at Albertsons Stadium over the last two seasons, the highest such totals in the country.
THE SERIES
Boise State is 12-1 all-time against Wyoming, including a mark of 7-1 since the Broncos joined the Mountain West for the 2011 season. Boise State is also 6-0 in home games, the team's only loss coming in Laramie, Wyo., Oct. 29, 2016 (30-28). The Broncos have won the last two games since the defeat.
OPPONENT OPEN WEEKS
Boise State will be catching Wyoming coming off an open week for the second-straight season, and this will be the second such opponent for the Broncos in 2019 (Hawai'i). Boise State is 32-4 against schools coming off open weeks since joining what is now known as the Football Bowl Subdivision in 1996, the only losses coming to Wisconsin in 1997, Arkansas in 2000, Air Force in 2014 and San Diego State in 2018.
Since the start of the 2011 season, when the Broncos joined the MW, and through this season, Boise State will have played 12 conference games against teams coming off an open week. Only Nevada (13) will have played more.
THIRD DOWN IS OUR DOWN
Boise State is one of only three schools in the country to rank in the top 15 in both third down conver-sion (15th; .483) and third down defense (14th; .302). The other schools are Ohio State and Wisconsin.
The Broncos have converted 21-of-42 third-down situations over the past three games since a season-worst 2-for-13 showing Oct. 5 at UNLV.
Quarterback Hank Bachmeier has been clutch passing on third downs this season, going 32-for-51 (62.7 percent) for 578 yards, 26 first downs, five touchdowns and an interception in that situation. In his most recent action, Nov. 2 at San José State, Bachmeier went 2-for-3 for 45 yards and a pair of first downs on third down, in addition to a pair of runs on third downs that earned the Broncos a fresh set of downs. Sept. 20 against Air Force, Bachmeier went 5-for-8 for 98 yards and a touchdown on third downs.
LEADING AT HOME
The Broncos have made two road comebacks this season when trailing entering the fourth quarter, but the team boasts an impressive home streak when leading after three quarters. The Broncos have won 117-straight home games when leading after three quarters, the longest-active streak in the na-tion. LSU (74) and Navy (61) are the only schools with a streak at least half as long as Boise State's.
