BOISE, Idaho - The pass line got paid Tuesday morning as Curtis Weaver's All-America ticker for 2019 showed up seven with his selection to The Sporting News' First Team.

Tuesday's nod is the third to a first team for the Long Beach, Calif., native in 2019, joining his first-team selections to the Walter Camp and CBS Sports All-America Teams. Weaver has also been tabbed to the second teams of the Associated Press, ESPN, The Athletic and USA Today.

Weaver's 2019 campaign has also included being named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year as well as to the All-Mountain West First Team on Dec. 4. Heading into Saturday's Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl, Weaver has racked up a Mountain West-leading 13.5 sacks, ranking fifth in the nation, as well as a career-high 50 tackles, including 18.5 tackles-for-loss, a figure which also paces the conference and ranks tied for ninth in the FBS.

A Ted Hendricks Award finalist and Bednarik Award semifinalist, Weaver has recorded at least a share of a sack in eight of Boise State's 13 games, along with three multi-sack performances. He set a Boise State single-game record with 4.0 sacks Sept. 14 against Portland State, and, with three sacks Oct. 5 at UNLV, passed the previous conference career benchmark of 29.5 to become the Mountain West's career sack king. With 34.0 sacks to his name over his three seasons, Weaver ranks second in Boise State history, and is the FBS' active career leader.

Boise State (12-1), which won its fourth Mountain West title with Dec. 7's 31-10 victory over Hawai'i in the conference championship game, will square off with Washington (7-5) Saturday in Las Vegas. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. MT this Saturday on ABC.
