Broncos Selected for Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl

BOISE, Idaho – Following its victory in the 2019 Mountain West Football Championship Game, the 19th-ranked Boise State football team will play in the Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl, the Broncos' 18th-consecutive bowl selection.

Boise State will square off against Washington in the 28th edition of the game, which is set for Dec. 21 (Saturday). This will be the final Las Vegas Bowl played at Sam Boyd Stadium, and kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (MT). The game will be nationally televised on ABC.

The Broncos' bowl streak is tied for the fifth-longest in the country with Wisconsin, and trails only Virginia Tech (27), Georgia (23), Oklahoma (21) and LSU (20).

Washington went 7-5 in 2019, including a 4-5 mark in the Pac-12. The Broncos and Huskies previously met in the 2012 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas, with 20th-ranked Boise State securing a 28-26 victory.

Tickets to the Las Vegas Bowl are on sale now, and fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets through Boise State. They can be purchased HERE, or via the Athletic Ticket Office on the west side of Albertsons Stadium or by phone at (208) 426-4737. Season ticket holders will be seated based on their priority point rank, so long as they purchase their tickets by 5 p.m., Dec. 10 (Tuesday).

By purchasing tickets through the Boise State athletic ticket office, fans ensure their seats will be located with other members of Bronco Nation and also assist the University in meeting its ticket obligation as a bowl participant. The number of tickets Bronco fans purchase through the University can also make our program appealing for future bowl games when selections are made. Purchasing tickets through Boise State allows the Athletic Ticket Office and the Bronco Athletic Association to provide customer service to fans leading up to the bowl and on game day.

BOISE STATE
The Broncos, ranked No. 18 in both the Associated Press and Coaches Polls and No. 19 in the College Football Playoff Poll, went 12-1 in 2019, winning their fourth Mountain West Championship since joining the league in 2011. The four MW championships are tied with BYU, TCU and Utah for the most in conference history, and are the most by any active member of the league. The Broncos defeated Hawaii, 31-10, Saturday (Dec. 7).

Boise State has been nationally ranked in each of the last 18 seasons, tied with USC for the seventh-longest active streak in the country.

The Broncos are in the midst of their 22nd-straight season with a winning record, the longest active streak in the country, the 15th-longest in NCAA history and the longest by a Group of Five school all-time. Boise State also took over as the winningest program in NCAA history earlier this season (.731), with Ohio State (.730) and Michigan (.729) ranking second and third, respectively.

SERIES HISTORY
Boise State and Washington are an even 2-2 in the all-time series, the Broncos' only losses coming on the road in 2007 (24-10) and 2013 (38-6). The victories came in the 2012 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas (28-26), and at Albertsons Stadium in 2015 (16-13).

VEGAS BOWL HISTORY
The Broncos are a perfect 4-0 in the Las Vegas Bowl, having appeared in the game in three-consecutive seasons from 2010-12, and then again in 2017. Boise State has defeated Utah (Dec. 22, 2010; 26-3), Arizona State (Dec. 22, 2011; 56-24), Washington (Dec. 22, 2012; 28-26) and Oregon (Dec. 16, 2017; 38-28) in the game.
