KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Boise State closed out its nonconference slate in convincing fashion, toppling Western Michigan 32-7 on Saturday.

The Blue and Orange (3-1) nearly recorded a shutout, allowing a Western Michigan (2-2) score with just over a minute remaining in the game. Boise State totaled 377 total yards in the victory, including 204 in the air and 173 on the ground. Western Michigan mustered 223 total yards, but was held to 2-of-14 on third down attempts and failed to convert all three fourth-down attempts.

Boise State marched down the field on the opening drive, with Maddux Madsen finding Matt Wagner for a 34-yard touchdown reception. Zeke Martinez converted a two-point conversion for the Blue and Orange for an early 8-0 advantage.

Dylan Riley made it a two-possession game, punching it in on the ground from five yards out to give Boise State a 15-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Riley ran for 103 yards in the first half, marking his third consecutive game with a 100-yard rushing half.

Boise State extended its lead to 22 following a 6-yard pass-and-catch from Madsen to Ben Ford midway through the third frame. Canaan Moore tacked on three additional points with a 25-yard field goal late in the third quarter to give Boise State a 25-0 lead heading into the final fifteen.

Roman Tillmon recorded his first career interception in the fourth quarter, setting up another Madsen-to-Wagner touchdown connection, this time a 2-yard pass. Western Michigan scored a touchdown with 1:03 left in the game to prevent the shutout.
