BANDON, Oreg. - Heavy winds returned for the final day of the Bandon Dunes Championship. The Broncos were able to climb two spots up the leaderboard to eighth-place after a final round +16 to finish at +26 (302-284-304=890) for the event.
"We struggled today. Putting has been an area we need to improve and we were bad on the greens today. It's hard to putt in the wind, but we need to get better. We lost a lot of shots on the greens this week and we finished some rounds poorly. We will clean that up," said Head Coach Dan Potter.
The day belonged to the freshmen with Hugo Townsend finishing as the top Bronco after finishing tied for 16th at +4 (73-72-75=220). Likewise, freshman Cameron Barzekoff closed the tournament tied for 21st thanks to a second-round 68. He would go on to shoot 75 on Tuesday and finish at +6 (79-68-75=222).
Two juniors finished the day with 77s. Brian Humphreys closed the tournament at +9 (76-72-77=225) to finish tied for 36th. Mason Schulze finished at +12 (79-72-77=228) ending up just inside the top-50, finishing tied for 49th. Sophomore Skyler Eubank rounded out the tournament with a tie for 59th at +14 (74-74-82=230).
Following spring break the Broncos will return to action at the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Oregon March 25-26.
