Broncos finish season with a school record 13-6 record.

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State beach volleyball wrapped their season up at home on Friday hosting the Boise State Beach Classic. The Broncos went 1-1 on the day defeating Sacramento State 4-1, then fell 3-2 to No. 12 Arizona. The Broncos were led by their No. 1 and 2 pairs who went undefeated on the day collecting two victories each. The split on the day gives the Broncos second place at the Boise State Beach Classic and they finish the 2019 campaign with a school record 13-6 record, the program's first winning season in its six-year history.

"I think today was a really good day for us, especially for our program," said head coach Allison Buck. "We played against a really good Sacramento State team early in the day, getting a 4-1 win was fantastic. Then going against No. 12 Arizona and falling 3-2, it was exciting to see how we improved from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. I think that the team did amazing this season, especially for being the first year of actually training all year round and having everyone together. I think going 13-6 is a school record and is amazing, especially with playing great competition all year."

Friday was also Senior Day for the Blue and Orange as all three seniors completed the day undefeated playing on courts one and two. Janell Walley and senior Kendra Bodine recorded a pair of wins on court one Friday afternoon as they finish the year with a school record 14-5 mark, including 10-5 at No. 1 pair and 4-0 at No. 2.

The senior tandem of Sabryn Roberts and Morgan Hughes won both of the their matches as well to complete the campaign at 13-6, second all-time for a pair in a season behind Walley and Bodine. They also finished the year with a seven-match win streak. In addition, Roberts finished her four-year career with a school record 28 wins, two ahead of Walley — a junior — with 26.

"I think that we've gotten a lot better since the last time we've played both of these teams," said Roberts. "I think we rose to the occasion and went down swinging (against Arizona); I felt good about today. I've had such a good year and I'm so grateful to have played with such an amazing person (Morgan Hughes), we're best friends on and off the court. I'm happy with how our year went."

Kiley Lewis and Kylee Johnson went 1-1 on the day to complete the season with an impressive 9-3 mark overall, third best in a season for a pair in program history.
