BOISE, Idaho – Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell announced Friday the signing of forward Kimora Sykes (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. / Etiwanda HS) to a National Letter of Intent. Sykes, a 6-foot forward, is the Broncos' second signee for the 2019-20 season.

She joins forward Chinma Njoku (Pocatello, Idaho / Century HS) as part of Boise State's incoming freshman class.

"We are excited that Kimora has chosen Boise State," said Broncos head coach Gordy Presnell. "She comes from an outstanding program at Etiwanda High School, coached by Stan Delus. She is high character, long, athletic, and has a very high ceiling. We are looking forward to her becoming a Bronco."

Sykes capped a decorated prep career at Etiwanda High School in 2018-19, averaging 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals a game while helping lead the Eagles to a 26-5 record and to the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs.

Following her senior season, Sykes was named to the San Bernardino Sun/Bulletin All-Area First Team and the All-Baseline League First Team, as well as to the All-SoCal Varsity Girls Basketball Team by the Los Angeles Daily News.

Over Sykes' three-year career at Etiwanda, the Eagles won three Baseline League titles, went unbeaten in league play, and reached the semifinals of both the CIF Southern Section Open Division and the Southern California Regional playoffs in 2017-18. That season, Sykes was named All-Area honorable mention and to the All-Baseline League Second Team after averaging nine points and seven rebounds per game.

She was named the team's Most Improved following her junior season before claiming Etiwanda's Defensive Player of the Year honor in 2018-19.

Sykes also plays club ball for Cal Stars Valley Elite and West Coast Premier Black.

Sykes will join a Boise State women's basketball team that is coming off of a 2018-19 campaign in which it won a school-record 28 games and made its third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Broncos have claimed consecutive Mountain West regular-season titles (2018-19) and three-straight conference tournament titles (2017-19) while reaching the NCAA Tournament in four of the past five seasons (2015, 2017-19).
