Broncos Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for 17th-Straight Semester

BOISE, Idaho - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its spring semester honors for CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams recognizing team GPAs. Boise State was among the 480 schools honored nationwide (all divisions, men and women) making it the 17th-consecutive semester that the Broncos have made this prestigious list for academics. Â
The Blue and Orange were recognized for achieving a 3.68 grade-point average between its 27 student-athletes during the spring 2019 semester. That mark tied them for ninth-highest — with Alabama — among the 194 NCAA Division I women's programs and second among the 10 Mountain West schools that sponsor the sport. Indiana State recorded the national high with a 3.75 team GPA last semester.Â
The Boise State swim and dive team set one academic program record and tied another this past spring with the 3.68 being the best mark ever for a single semester, while its identical cumulative GPA of 3.68 tied the high set last fall. This marks the eighth-straight semester that the team has recorded a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
Helping the program set the semester record this spring was an impressive number of 4.0 GPAs by nine individuals: Mandy Barnes, Molly Hogg, Ally Kleinsorgen, Katie McCoy, Robin Pinger, Emma Segneri, Abbey Sorensen, Laura Williams and Georgia Zacest.
The CSCAA recognizes teams with this award for achieving a combined team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Founded in 1922, the CSCAA — the oldest organization of college coaches in America — is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
