"While we were disappointed with tonight's outcome, we had some shining moments tonight," head coach Tina Bird said. "We're ready to get back in the gym this week and do work!"
Amado's performance led the Broncos to a team score of 49.050 on beam, an event in which the Broncos entered the evening ranked seventh nationally. Freshman Erin Elkabchi tied for second in the event with a career-high 9.850 in just her second-career performance.
Sophomore Hope Masiado added a 9.825 on beam, which followed her first-career bars routine (9.850) and a career-high, team-leading vault (9.825).
For the second-straight meet to open the season, Boise State was only able to put five competitors up on bars. The Broncos, which entered tonight ranked fourth nationally in the event, counted a 9.200 and trailed Washington entering the second rotation after notching a 48.575.
Though Washington would lead the rest of the way, the Broncos were able to outscore the Huskies on beam (49.050-48.800) and improve on their vault score from the season-opening meet, recording a 48.825. Boise State scored 47.525 on floor, led by Amado and junior Tatum Bruden, who each scored 9.775.
