BOISE, Idaho – Redshirt senior center Mallory McGwire was named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team Thursday, as the conference announced its 2020-21 preseason honors and predicted order of finish.

It marked the second-straight season in which McGwire was recognized by the conference in its preseason honors, having been named the Preseason Newcomer of the Year prior to last season. She was joined on the 2020-21 Preseason All-Mountain West Team by Fresno State's Maddi Utti and Haley Cavinder, San Jose State's Ayzhiana Basallo, and San Diego State's Sophia Ramos.

McGwire anchored the Boise State front court in her debut season with the Broncos in 2019-20, averaging 11.4 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 50 blocks, and shooting 47.2 from the field. Over the Mountain West regular season, the Reno, Nev., native scored in double figures 13 times, and posted six double-doubles, including a 21-point, 17-rebound conference debut in which she hit the game-winning 3-pointer in her conference debut against New Mexico last Dec. 4.

McGwire proved impactful outside the paint, as well, venturing beyond the arc and shooting 35.2 percent (32-for-91).

Over Boise State's championship run at the Mountain West Tournament, McGwire averaged 7.0 points and 8.0 rebounds over the three wins, including 13 rebounds in the title-game victory over Fresno State.

Boise State, four-time defending Mountain West Tournament champion, was picked to come in third in the conference's regular-season predicted order of finish, earning one first-place vote and 221 points. It snapped a run of three-straight years in which the Broncos had topped the preseason predicted order of finish.

The Broncos have gone a combined 43-11 in Mountain West play over the past three seasons, and, including conference tournament games, have won 45 of the last 52 meetings with Mountain West foes.

Fresno State topped the poll with 22 first-place votes and 266 points, followed by San Jose State (two first-place votes, 236 points).

With the Broncos third, the rest of the conference order followed with San Diego State fourth (one first-place vote, 185 points), Wyoming fifth (173 points), and New Mexico (145), Air Force (120), Colorado State (117), UNLV (111), Nevada (95), and Utah State (44) rounding it out.
