BOISE, Idaho – Four Boise State starters scored in double figures and the Broncos defeated Weber State 84-58 in nonconference women's basketball at ExtraMile Arena, Sunday.
Alexis Mark scored six of her 13 points in the opening quarter and Boise State (2-0) led 18-16 after 10 minutes.
Two quick buckets by Jade Loville, who finished with a game-high 16 points, to start the second quarter pushed the lead to 22-16. Loville added seven-more points in the quarter and Rachel Bowers hit a 3-pointer late in the half as part of a 10-point afternoon to give the Broncos a 40-24 advantage at intermission.
The Broncos outrebounded the Wildcats (0-3) 55-36, including 19 offensive boards and scored 50 points in the paint.
"The post group as a whole, in terms of depth, is potentially as a good of group as we've had," Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell said. "We're trying to have the mentality that if we miss it, we want to go get it. Nineteen offensive rebounds is great."
Mallory McGwire recorded her ninth double-double as a Bronco with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 16 minutes of action. Mary Kay Naro just missed making it all five starters in double figures with nine points while adding six assists.
Boise State's bench chipped in 25 points and 25 rebounds, led by Chinma Njoku's seven points and 11 rebounds.
The Wildcats, who were paced by 12 points from Dominique Williams, never got closer than 14 points in the second half.
