Broncos Roll Past Eagles

BOISE, Idaho – Mallory McGwire scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Boise State past visiting Eastern Washington 84-64 in women's basketball, Thursday.
McGwire's points led all scorers and five Broncos (3-0) in double figures. Alexis Mark tallied 15 points and Jade Loville added 12 while Kimora Sykes and Elodie Lalotte registered 11 and 10, respectively, off the bench.
"Mallory did a great job today and Elodie came off the bench and was fantastic," Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell. "Alexis Mark and Mary Kay Naro have a chance to be something special."
Naro contributed eight points, three steals and a game-high five assists. The Broncos won for the 11th-straight time dating back to last season.
Boise State raced out to an 8-0 lead and led 19-11 after one quarter behind eight points from Loville.
A similar start to the second quarter stretched the lead to 26-11 as Naro, Mark and McGwire each scored a basket during the run.
Eastern Washington (0-3) closed to within 30-22, but the Broncos finished the half on a 12-4 run to lead 42-26 at the break.
In the third quarter, Sykes hit a pair of 3-pointers and the Broncos were 5-for-5 at the line to take a 61-44 lead.
Boise State led by as much as 24 in the fourth quarter, finished with a 41-30 advantage on the glass and forced 20 turnovers.
The Broncos travel to Provo, Utah for their first road game of the season. Boise State will square off with BYU, Saturday at noon.
