BOISE, Idaho - Boise State closes out the road week, and plays its penultimate road game of the regular season, Saturday at 2 p.m. MT at San Diego State. A Bronco win would clinch a first-round bye at March 1-4's Mountain West Tournament.

WIN = FIRST-ROUND BYE
Boise State can clinch a top-five seed and a first-round bye at March 1-4's Mountain West Tournament with a win Saturday in San Diego.

Currently in third place at 9-5, the Broncos are two games clear of the sixth-place Aztecs (7-7), with a win Saturday bringing the Broncos three games up with three games to play and in possession of the tiebreaker via the season sweep.

With Wednesday's results, the Broncos jumped over UNLV (8-5 MW) and into third place by a half-game, and are just a half-game back of second-place San Jose State (9-4 MW) after the Spartans' loss to Fresno State.

LAST TIME OUT
Boise State got back into the win column Wednesday with a 74-69 victory at Air Force. The win ran the Broncos' winning streak against the Falcons to 14.

The Broncos had to beat back a desperate Air Force push late, as the Falcons erased  an 18-point Bronco lead to tie the game at 61-61. But Boise State finished the game with a 13-8 burst, with A'Shanti Coleman scoring seven of the Broncos' final 11 points.

Riley Lupfer matched her season highs in points (23) and 3-pointers made (six), while Mallory McGwire posted her seventh double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Jayde Christopher passed out 12 assists, in the process setting Boise State's single-season record with an even 200 for the campaign.

WHO'S NEXT
The Broncos wrap up the road week Saturday at San Diego State, tipping off against the Aztecs at 2 p.m. MT.

The Aztecs (12-14, 7-7 MW) are coming off of a 67-58 road win over New Mexico Wednesday night, and are led by the play of (LEADERS).

SERIES HISTORY
Boise State leads the all-time series against San Diego State, 9-8.

The Broncos have won five in a row against the Aztecs, and this Saturday will go for the regular-season sweep after capturing the previous meeting of the year, 86-72, in Boise back on Jan. 11.

SECOND GO-AROUND
Boise State will go for the season sweep of its third Mountain West opponent this Saturday when it faces San Diego State. The Broncos already have sweeps of Nevada and Air Force under their belt.

With games remaining against San Jose State (Feb. 19) and UNLV (Feb. 24), teams that took the first meeting with the Broncos this season, Boise State will attempt to avoid being swept by a conference opponent since dropping both meetings with Colorado State in 2015-16.

IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Boise State has found itself, as well as a handful of players, ranked fairly high in early national stat rankings through Feb. 12.

As a team, the Broncos rank ninth in assists (427). The Broncos' 44.8 field-goal percentage ranks 25th, and the team's 182 3-pointers are 41st in the country.

Individually, redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher is second in the nation with 200 assists, and with 7.69 assists per game. Senior guard Riley Lupfer is fourth in the country with 80 3-pointers made, and 11th with 3.08 triples made per game.

WIN = FIRST-ROUND BYE

CHRISTOPHER SETS ASSIST MARK
Redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher set the Boise State single-season assists record Wednesday at Air Force, passing out 12 helpers to bring her tally for the campaign to an even 200.

With her fifth assist of the game, Christopher tallied assist no. 193 to eclipse the previous mark of 192 set by Yaiza Rodriguez in 2016-17.

In just two seasons at Boise State, Christopher has skyrocketed up the program's career assists list, a feat made even more impressive by the fact that she's only played 59 games in the Blue and Orange.

Christopher, with 382 career assists at Boise State (2018-present), already ranks fourth all-time in program history, and is already just eight away from the No. 3 spot held by Marta Hermida (390).

LET IT FLY
Boise State had one of its best 3-point shooting nights, and shooting nights overall, for that matter, Wednesday at Air Force, going 10-for-22 (45.5 percent) from deep and shooting 54.7 percent from the field.

The 10 triples marked just the fourth time this season that the Broncos have hit double figures from deep, and the first time since draining 13 (in 35 attempts) Nov. 26 against Utah Valley.

ANOTHER 20 FOR LUPFER
Senior guard Riley Lupfer appears to be heating up at precisely the right time for Boise State, as she recorded her second-straight 20-point game and hit six 3-pointers in Wednesday's win at Air Force.

Over the last three games, Lupfer has averaged 20.3 points and shot 46.7 percent from deep (14-for-30) and 52.5 percent from the field overall (21-for-40).

PREPARING FOR IN-N-OUT?
Center Mallory McGwire has already been getting into the In-N-Out Burger groove ahead of Boise State's trip to California this weekend, as she has posted double-doubles in each of the last two games.

After going for 12 points and 12 rebounds last Saturday against Utah State, McGwire posted her eighth double-double of the season Wednesday with 16 points and 11 rebounds at Air Force.

It also marked McGwire's sixth double-double in Mountain West action, while in Mountain West play, she is nearly averaging a double-double, currently at 11.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

COLEMAN AGAINST THE AZTECS
Redshirt senior forward A'Shanti Coleman just seems to play her best against the Mountain West's California schools, San Diego State included.

Over five-career games against the Aztecs, Coleman averages 12.8 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 60.5 percent (26-for-43) from the field. She scored a career-high 22 points in San Diego last year (Jan. 5), going 9-for-13 shooting.
