LARAMIE, Wyo. -Â On the night that Justinian Jessup became the Mountain West's all-time three-point leader, Alex Hobbs stole the spotlight from his classmate. Hobbs scored a career-high 24 points, including 16 after halftime, and keyed Boise State men's basketball to a comeback road win Tuesday, at Wyoming, 67-62. The Broncos have won five consecutive games, their longest conference win streak since 2015.
Jessup hit his first three-point attempt of the night to break a tie with former BYU standout Jimmer Fredette for the conference's career three-point record less than four minutes into the game. He was also crucial down the stretch.
Â
Seniors Hobbs, Jessup and RJ Williams combined for Boise State's (16-8, 8-4 MW) final 28 points. With 5:15 to play, Hobbs hit a three-pointer to put the Broncos ahead by one. The Cowboys (7-17, 1-11 MW) answered back, but Hobbs drilled another triple on the next trip for the final lead change of the game.
Jessup and Williams went a combined 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the final 75 seconds to clinch the victory.
Jessup finished with 16 points, while Williams added 13 rebounds to go with his nine points.
Redshirt freshman Max Rice matched his personal best with 12 points, all coming in the first half on a career-high four three-pointers. Rice was 4-for-4 from beyond the arc in the opening period, keeping the Broncos within striking distance. The first half ended with the score tied at 33.
Boise State continues its two-game road trip Saturday, at Utah State. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network.
