INDIANAPOLIS – The Boise State baseball was off to a 9-5 start when its season, like every other NCAA program, came to an abrupt end last week.
In the final RPI of 2020 the Broncos' final ranking reflects plenty of things to be excited about.
Boise State finished in the upper half of the nation (148 out of 301 teams). The Broncos were third in the Mountain West behind San Diego State and New Mexico. At 14-4, the Lobos were the only MW school with a better record than Boise State this year.
The Broncos ranked ahead of seven schools that have combined for 14 national championships, including four-time winner Cal State Fullerton.
In addition, Boise State placed higher than 10 schools from Power 5 conferences, including Auburn, Stanford and Wake Forest, which all were ranked in at least one preseason Top 25 poll.
