Sedona Hansen and Evi Wilson sign financial aid agreements to join the Broncos for 2021 season.
BOISE, Idaho - Boise State's head beach volleyball coach Allison Buck announced on Wednesday the addition of two graduate transfers Sedona Hansen (Tennessee) and Evi Wilson (Montana State) who have signed financial aid agreements for the 2021 campaign. Both bring solid experience with them having played for four years on their respective schools' indoor volleyball teams. They will bring that experience and leadership to Boise State as they transition to the beach game.Â
Coach Buck's comments on the new recruits, "Our beach volleyball program is so excited to have grad transfers Sedona Hansen and Evi Wilson be a part of our team. They both bring in great experience from playing in high school and during the summers. Both are coming off great careers at the University of Tennessee and Montana State University. Their character and drive to play at a high level are only a couple of reasons why they are a great fit for our program. They have the potential to make an immediate impact. I can't wait to get back in the sand this fall with our team!"Â
Hansen played setter at Tennessee where she earned three player of the week honors and was named to various all-tournament teams during her career. During her career she recorded 60 double-doubles for the Vols and was the fourth member of the 3,000 assists and 1,000 digs club at Tennessee. In her four seasons with the Vols she recorded 106 kills, 3,494 assists, 52 service aces, 1,129 digs and 69 blocks. As a senior, the native of Wrightwood, Calif., played in 28 matches tallying 38 kills, 955 assists, 22 aces, 257 digs and 17 blocks as the Vols went 15-13 overall and 9-9 in SEC play.Â
Wilson played outside hitter for Montana State where she saw action in 93 matches, 28 as a senior. During her four-year career with the Bobcats, Wilson recorded 809 kills — nearly half came as a senior — to go with 317 digs, 134 blocks and 886 points. As a senior last fall she had a team-high 377 kills, 224 digs, 43 blocks and 404.5 points. The native of Vancouver, Wash., was ranked fifth in the Big Sky Conference for kills per set at 3.47 and sixth for points per set at 3.78.
